NO*Raggedly Yours
A small Ragdoll cattery in cosy environments
Welcome!
About the cattery
My name is Elisabeth Dahlberg Capra and I am 38 years old.
I live in a fully detached house in a rural area called Disenå in Norway, about 1 hrs drive from Oslo, the capitol of Norway and about 40 minutes from the main airport, Gardermoen.
I work in the Norwegian Tax Administration and love it - I have great colleauges!
Together with me lives my son Mattias and my retired father.
We have 7 Ragdolls in our family as well. 1 male castrate and 2 adult females, but these 3 will not be a part of the cattery, they're just for cuddles. Then there's Safira - she's our first future queen in the cattery. Oliwer is our stud - imported from Finland. Bonnie is our second Queen, from the Norwegian breeder Kjernekrokens. And then there is Seraphina. She is the newest addtion to our cattery and is from Beruthiels cattery in Poland.
In addition theres 5 hens and a rooster called Puff Daddy Even (my son and I coudn't agree upon the name, so he got both!)
We have had several housecats over the years, but when we moved in summer of 2012 I decided that I wanted to buy a pedigreed cat as I have alwats wanted one. I had never even heard about the breed Ragdoll before, but as I was searching online for our next family member I came across this advert about a male Ragdollkitten for sale and was very lucky to be able to buy him. This way Lucas became our first Ragdoll in August 2012. Read more about him under "Our cats".
When my sons beautiful housecat Hermine tragically got hit by a car and killed right before Christmas 2012 the grief was big. I decided then that I could not bear to loose another fourlegged family member to careless drivers and would from now on only have indoor cats. The choice of cats was therefore very easy - Ragdolls. They are after all perfect indoor cats and when I got the chance to take on two sisters who was being re-homed I did not hesitate for a second. This way Sabrina and Selena moved in with us in February of 2013.
From this point forwards I read a lot of information on the breed standards that I could dig up from various websites and the more I read, the more interested I got. I discovered a sincere interest in areas concerning genetics, breeding and health issues for Ragdolls. And so, after long deliberations, I decided to apply for my own cattery name and was awarded my first choice of name, NO*Raggedly Yours, on the 24th of October 2013 by the NRR. (The NRR is the Norwegian afiliate of FiFe)
On the 2nd of November I brought home my first beauty, who is called Safira at home. (The name derives from the Norwegian word Safir (Sapphire) because of her beautiful eye-colour). She is an import from Sweden and she will be my first queen in my cattery if all goes to plan. Whilst Safira is growing we will use the time to get to know each other and to learn about catshows and how to do the whole exhibition thing. This is new grounds for me and I am hoping to bring Safira to a show at the beginning of next year. I am so looking forwards to that. More information regarding Safira under "Our cats".
My main focus when it comes to the cattery is to breed og bring forwards healthy and beautiful Ragdolls with a lovely temperament and nature. I will focus on quality before quantity and all our cats live as respected members of our family. All cats that will be used in our cattery will be tested for genetic and hereditary diseases and faults by an officially approved veterinary. Our offspring will first be sold for cuddles as luxurious pets, but should we be so lucky in the future as to have outstanding offspring we will consider then to sell but only to other registered, serious and approved breeders.
I wish to add healthy cats to the genepool, not thin it out - quality before quantity.
We will therefore not have more than a couple of litters per year the most and I deem my cats health and welfare very important.
I do hope you will have a look at our website and please, do not hesitate to make contact should you have any questions. :-)
